Year 3 Trip to Verulamium
Our Year 3 pupils had a fantastic day exploring Verulamium as part of their history learning on the Romans. The children were excited from the moment they stepped off the coach, ready to discover what life was like in Roman Britain.
During the visit, they explored the museum’s incredible collection of Roman artefacts, including mosaics, pottery, jewellery, and everyday household items. The children were fascinated to see how much of Roman life has been preserved and enjoyed making connections with what they have been learning in class.
A highlight of the day was taking part in the hands-on workshop, where the children had the opportunity to handle real and replica artefacts. They worked brilliantly as groups, asking thoughtful questions and showing great curiosity as they investigated how different objects were used.
The trip ended with a walk around the hypocaust and reconstructed Roman rooms, which really helped bring their learning to life. The children behaved beautifully throughout the day and represented our school with pride.
It was a wonderful experience for everyone involved and a memorable part of our Roman topic.
